Types of drywall

According to technical parameters, drywall is divided into five types: ceiling, moisture -resistant, fire -resistant, arched wall wall.

The ceiling drywall allows you to change the height of the ceiling, its irregularities, modify the shape, hide the wiring, pipes and other communications. It is used in dry rooms and in rooms with humidity not over 70%. The thickness of such a sheet is 9.5 mm.

Wall drywall is used for wall cladding and installation of interior partitions. Sheet parameters are the same as that of the ceiling.

Moisture -resistant drywall is used in rooms with high humidity. At the same time, an extract should be present in the room, and the front side of the drywall sheet should be protected by various materials: paint, ceramic tiles, primer and other coatings. Fireproof drywall is characterized in that the core material has a special reinforcing substance. It is used to conceal heated communications: radiators, pipes, etc.P.

Arched drywall is used to create various kinds of structures. It increases the strength of the structure, does not allow the appearance of cracks on the ceiling in the form and violation of geometric structures. The thickness of such a sheet is 6.5 mm.

For fastening sheets, you will have to purchase other materials: metal profile, fasteners, gypsum glue, stitching tape, putty, etc.

For fastening sheets I use screws or special nails. Nails use galvanized with wide hats. If the nails are not galvanized should first be covered with olifa so as not to rust. If there is a special tool, it is better to use screws, not nails. Dubel and anchors, various varieties are also used for fastening sheets.

Sheets are attached to the profile. The profile is rack, guide, ceiling, corner. The wall profile has the form of a channel with longitudinal grooves in the shelf. The guide profile is used together with the wall and serves as a guide structure. The ceiling profile is used to build the frame of the suspended ceilings. The corner profile serves as the protection of external angles and slopes from mechanical damage.
